The History of BerlinWood™ Fingerboards

BerlinWood™ History

™ Fingerboards was founded by in 2002 in a time when plastic was the most common . Handcrafted 5 ply decks available to everybody distributed by the strongest influence to the scene…-Ramps!

After years of promoting fingerboarding hand in hand, these brands made a unique step and grew together in 2009. A more professional was built in Schwarzenbach and new decks has been developed together with the world-champion Elias Assmuth.

Professional graphics and more shapes added to enlarge the assortment constantly.
Decks are now built by Timo Lieben and the new formed BW production Crew making BerlinWood™ one of rare professional workshops run and lead by fingerboarders.

Mastermind Timo Lieben was the first to manufacture professional wooden fingerboards the way skateboards are made. His formula for success are all the new ideas and innovations he steadily brings to the community like the first bushings and bearings. With a view to take fingerboarding to the next level!

The BerlinWood :  Timo Lieben

Timo Lieben

Being interested in all kind of skill toys Timo Lieben started fingerboarding in 1999 and joined Blackriver-Ramps one year later visiting FastFingers3. In the following years he showed true heart by supporting fingerboarding in any way he could.

Influencing the scene with the first bearings and bushings and in 2002 releasing BerlinWood he allways showed new ways. “theDriver” was a given name by Martin Winkler in that time because of all those uncounted events and contests they did together in Timos car.
In 2009 Timo moved from Berlin to Schwarzenbach to work in the new BW production and to be more involved in the daily work that runs Blackriver-Ramps.
Together with Martin Winkler and Thomas Hansen he lives now in a place called “Am Steig” living the dream of fingerboarding… till today!
